WASH AWAY MENTAL BLOAT//

Collectively, we are coming out of intense time period of mental bloating. You can say goodbye to brain fog + lack of direction because from here on out, we are going to start focusing on anti-inflammatory foods + exercises for the mental psyche. Im talking turmeric on crack kind of level. 

WHAT CAUSES MENTAL BLOAT//

To first throw off the word "stress" is super broken record of me. I know. Stress causes pretty much everything these days. Our industrialized world sped up too fast, too quick. Our immune systems are left in turmoil + our digestion works every other day + our waistlines are in constant extension. But stress, again, has made its mark. When we are stressed, and havent supplied our body with adequate stress defenders, our brain literally fogs or inflames itself as a defense mechanism. Throw processed foods + anti-inflammatory animal products + high glycemic culprits into the mix and you could go from Monday-Friday without a clear thought. 

Lack of sleep is also another huge inflammatory to  the brain. Our  brain requires so many vitamins + minerals + fatty acids + nutrients to function properly and defend against the shit that dont serve us. To harness any of the food we do actually feed our brain, adequate sleep is imperative. Listen to your body, not your television guide. Dont sacrifice your energy levels and productivity the next day for a tv show that just happens to come on at 10 pm. No matter how strong or trendy your newest coffee drink is, your brain really doesnt care. It might for an hour.....but after the awesome caffeine high is over its going right back down the wishing well to ground zero. 

Forgetting to breathe and sit in silence all day can enhance your brains ability to remain a misty swamp. Dont find yourself stuck in the stank, do it in the morning and it will change your life. 

WHAT HAPPENS//

Most likely, you will develop a faux baby in the form of a tire that circumferences your waistline for starters. Your body with dump all the bloating everywhere else on your body before the brain decides to take it. It might even make it to your ankles, which means you can kiss your ankle booties goodbye this winter! 

Your energy will plummet! There is no time for energy production when your brain has to constantly be deflating its shell. Oh, and you better become comfortable with headaches because they are here to stay. Your keys will always run away from you and your workouts are going to suffer, that is if you even make it to studio hot body on 5th street. 

And just when you thought your day was finally over, and you can reset yourself with a good nights rest, you will come face to face with your good ole friend insomnia. 

ah!!! 

THE GREAT "DEBLOAT"//

So naturally you start thinking into this more and finding more ways in which you can debloat your brain which cradles your mind which delegates your body which is the most tangible way we begin to even feel ourselves. 

In order to debloat the mind, give it what it really wants and take away what it already has way too much of. It takes a level of mastery to surpass the control of your mind and coast on a path towards intuitive living rooted in cosmic thought. But once you start feeding the brain right, it will feed the body right, and you will watch your brain + body deflate faster than you can order that next sprouted vegan margarita pizza with "extra veggies". 

CUT BACK ON SUGAR (LOW GLYCEMIC IS CRUCIAL)// think berries over bananas. Quinoa over rice. Stevia over honey. 
RAMP (for some reason "ramp" doesnt sound like a word today) UP YOUR FAT + PROTEIN INTAKE// hello avocado + spirulina + clean eggs
PUT DOWN THE CELLPHONE BY 8 PM// spend the last half of the night reading + talking with your family + self-caring
ALLOW YOURSELF TO SLEEP// I prescribe everyone atleast 8 hours.
WERKOUT LIKE A BOSS + TAKE REST DAYS. // My current workout schedule is M-F with rest days on saturday + sunday. Find your flow. I rest hard on the weekends as my weeks are total organized chaos.
INCLUDE HERBS LIKE Sun Potion ASHWAGANDHA + TRIPHALA + REISHI TO YOUR NIGHT TIME ROUTINE. // mix 1/2 tsp each with warm water or milk + some cardamom. sweeten with stevia. sip. 
DONT EVER LEAVE OLENA, SERIOUSLY.// turmeric never goes out of style! 
DRINK YOUR APPLE CIDER VINEGAR. // alkalize your body. alkalize your mind. 
 

 


MENTAL DEBLOAT BOMB//

1 CUP FROZEN OG BERRIES
1/4 OG AVOCADO
1 SCOOP BLUE MAGIC E3 LIVE
1 TABLESPOON WATER
2 STRAWBERRIES
1/4 BANANA (OPTIONAL)
NUT BUTTER OF CHOICE FOR DRIZZLE
1/4 CUP SUGAR-FREE GRANOLA (OPTIONAL)

Blend berries + avocado + blue magic + water in blender on high until the consistency starts to "shelf". // Layer in a clear jar from bottom to top: granola, sliced banana + strawberries, drizzle PB on the sides (or nut butter of choice), top with more nut butter drizzle.
