Top 5 uses for coconut oil

The coconut craze is in full effect and for good reason. The meat + water + oil, fermented, fresh or dried is a powerful anti-aging tool and fat buster that helps keep the insides lubricated and beauty belly satiated. It helps to open the third eye and keep it there and is an item that most of you already have your organic virgin cold-pressed coconut oil in your natural pantry, bedroom, and bathroom already.

Here are my top 5 uses for coconut oil:

  1. Moisturizer |

    • BODY: I am religious about moisturizing thanks to the momma bear and feel absoloutely incomplete without moisture after my shower. It is my one and only daily anti-aging/self care ritual that I actually REMEMBER to do every day! I mix coconut oil with castor oil in a 3:1 ratio for each part of my body (Chest +neck, arms + shoulders, belly + lower back, etc etc pick your own pairings!) I like to add a drop of Serenity essential oil to the oil portion I put around my chest and neck as a natural perfume.

    • FACE: My face is super sensitive to moisture and can get clogged up very easily so I use minimal (1 tsp about) of coconut oil on my face after ive been in the sun for a long day. Rub it in circular upwards motions to keep the skin from sagging over time.

    • HAIR: A little bit of coconut oil rubbed onto the ends of hair before bed does wonders overnight. I like to tie my hair up in a bun before bed so it doesnt get everywhere. Dont forget to rinse out or else youll look like greased lightning come morning.

  2. Coffe creamer | Any opportunity I get to advise others against dairy I do. Dont get me wrong, there is nothing better than cream in coffee. HOnestly, nothing better. But for the daily coffee drinkers this could lead to toxic buildup and an overly acidic beauty belly. Try blending a tablespoon of coconut oil with your coffee on high-speed for 30 seconds and a nice "froth" will form and tastes exactly like creamer. The right fat mixed with coffee can help prevent fat storage due to slow dispertion of energy throughout the body + reduce those coffee-crash cravings. Best thing ever! Always remember to drink organic coffee! Coffee is the most sprayed crop with pesticides.

  3. Makeup remover | I used to spend copious amounts of money on eye makeup remover wipes, creams, and gels. They worked but after a while began to sting my eyes and create irritation! Try using a bit of coconut oil on a cotton swap or soft cloth to remove that makeup.

  4. Cooking | This one is a no brainer! Coconut, sesame, avocado, and ghee are the only oils I recommend cooking with as they cant withstand high heat thus preventing the release of free radicals in the body as opposed to olive, vegetable, canola, safflower, etc...... I also use the miracle oil in all of my nut butters to add a nice coconut finish and up the nutrient content. Fat over everything.

  5. Sunscreen | Coconut oil has an SPF of 8 and provides a protective skin barrier from harmful radiation thanks to the lauric acid content and healthy fats, helping keep your skin buoyant, moisturized, and bronzed all at the same time. Mix the oil with a little zinc powder, beeswax and lavender essential oil and you've got yourself a powerful non-toxic sunscreen.
